Life After Life

Introduction

by

Melody Beattie

About two years after my son’s death, I began to experience an overwhelming urge  to reconnect with him.  I had lost many people  before, but when Aunt Milly or Uncle Henry died and the funeral ended, I didn’t think much about where Millie or Henry were.  In the ground?  Okay.  Fine by me.  But when my son transitioned at age twelve, where he was and what happened to him was an entirely different issue.  This wasn’t just any death.  A  big piece of my heart  was gone.

I wanted to get a reading with a medium called George Anderson.  He was in the media limelight, and getting good reviews.  Reporters didn’t call him a charlatan.  Instead, they found him to be astoundingly exact — a unique and reputable connection to the dead.  He connected to the other side.  Even the journalist in me became satisfied that George Anderson could do what he said he could — make  a valid connection with people we thought of as dead. After my appointment with him, I knew I’d connected with my son.  George knew things — from Shane’s name, to the way he died, unique personality traits including the way Shane talked, that he could only know one way:  from talking to Shane himself.

This observation  wasn’t a product of my imagination, something I needed to fulfill my desire to connect with  Shane.

Recently I met April Claxton.  After being a guest on her show, I felt a nudge from within to get a reading from her.  I didn’t act on the feeling immediately.  I gave it time.  Then I decided  that yes, I wanted April to read me.  This wasn’t an impulse buy. I had no particular questions.  I wanted to know only that which was in my highest good.

In the years after Shane’s death, I had gradually learned to peek through the portal to the other side.  I could see, hear, and talk to dead people myself.  I didn’t tell many people about it.    I didn’t want them to judge me.  And I didn’t want to run around saying, “I can see dead people now” — even though I could.  It was one lesson I learned in the dark decade of the soul I endured after Shane’s death.  It  escalated after spending six weeks in Tibet.

By then I learned that just as legitimate gatekeepers to the other side exist, so do charlatans and people with the Gift, but who use it  solely to make a buck or to manipulate others.  They’d happily tell us what they knew we wanted to hear. Signs to watch for include a Medium suggesting  that you come back, (often), that negative energy or a Spell will continue to bring harm and bad luck to you unless you pay the Medium more money to defray the cost of candles and prayers, and  saying that the only one who can undo the Spell or dispense the negative energy is this particular Medium.  He or she alone has the power.  We are powerless.  The original contract for services becomes discarded.  The charlatan wants more  money. Paying it will be the only way we can have a good life or information we absolutely need.

Grieving people are vulnerable.  Charlatans can count on our desire for one more minute with the person we love.  Don’t let your vulnerability or your  wish to talk to your loved one let a dishonest Medium or charlatan use you.  Red flags include the Medium digging for information, or guessing — like throwing darts of information at us until they get something right.  If they throw enough darts, eventually they’ll hit the target.  We may also have a burning desire to find a way to make the psychic correct, even if nothing he or she said comes true.  After the death of someone we love, we might as well have a target painted on our back or wear a sign around our neck that says, I’m an easy mark.

Grief isn’t wasted time. It can start, or trigger, what April Claxton calls The Movement Within. I’ve been friends with, met, and received readings from many intuitive people.  The accuracy and abilities April demonstrated when she read me are unquestionably in the top one percent. I’ll vouch for her anytime.

If you’ve lost someone you love,  if you’re seeking guidance and can’t get it yourself, or you need validation for something you’re almost clear about, consider visiting April’s website.  (The address follows her article.)  Then if it feels right,  get a reading from her.  Like me, you may discover you’ve just met a gatekeeper to the other side,  and a loving, lovely, and innocent person  whose top priority is to serve.

After a lengthy introduction, here’s the article April Claxton wrote.  It’s not about Life After Death.  It’s her story and her truth about

LIFE AFTER LIFE

April Claxton

When we’re born, we begin a journey filled with experiences, goals, loves, and losses. We make decisions while we navigate our path through this amazing opportunity called Life. There are ups and downs along the way. Sometimes the downs pull us in directions we don’t want to go. They challenge our abilities to feel, think, understand, continue to function — and sometimes to even want to continue to function and go forward with life — when we discover some harsher realities such as Life Isn’t Always Fair.

One down we experience happens when we go through loss.  It can be loss of a loved one, pet, friend, or acquaintance.  We wake up and find ourselves living without this person.  Our lives  changed  in a way we didn’t  envision, expect, or want.  This person we love and counted on will no longer be part of our plans, experiences, and dreams.  We didn’t  imagine this person would go away.  Then, whoosh, they’re gone.

Or are they?

When death knocks the wind out of us because someone’s body left, the soul continues. Life continues for them and it can continue for us. How do I know? Because I do. My name is April Claxton. I work as a Medium, an Intuitive Life Coach, and an Inspirational Speaker and promote awareness of The Movement Within. Through my abilities and work with clients, I discovered things that have no explanation other than that our life continues  after we take our last breath. The Other Side exists. It’s good, real, and beautiful. It’s Life.

Our loved ones on the other side want us to know this.  The knowledge of Life’s continuation validates and confirms the soul’s journey through the experience we call Life, but usually think of in a limited way.  Through my abilities, people can open to a new reality that brings healing to them.  I channel for people seeking answers, hope, at first the strength to survive, then later to thrive.   My goal is to help lift humanity, one heart at a time. It’s my Life purpose and mission.

Each individual’s life and process is important and beautiful.  We need the unique individuality and abilities each person brings.  We’re all necessary.  You are  one with Life.

Although some people frown upon wanting to connect with lost loved ones, saying we need to completely let go, through my readings  many  people discover how healthy it is to contact loved ones who have crossed to the other side.  I gain my information from their Guardian Angels or Spirit Guides.  Use whichever phrase you’re comfortable with.  We’re talking about the same thing.

The Readings empower, bring hope, and validate people’s experiences and feelings.  They help people believe in themselves, their Life,  path, and that there’s more than Life after Death.  There’s Life after Life.

The need to connect with a lost loved one through a Medium or an Intuitive Reading is a valid stage of grief and an important part of healing from loss.  These Readings consist of messages  that come from your Angels or  Guides, and loved ones who have transitioned. I  sometimes use the word died, but the Guides or Angels correct me when I do. They prefer the word transitioned because it more accurately describes what the experience is — a transition from one place to another.

The soul doesn’t die or disintegrate, like old broken glass.  It continues the journey of Life Personalities remain the same and they continue too. Loved ones come through in a way that validate who they are in a way that people can understand, in a way that speaks personally to them. All messages have one underlying theme.  The messages come from a place of love.  They say I’m here, I’m okay, and I’m still alive.

Most transitioned loved ones talk about details of situations, their physical appearances, a scar, a memory, or a special message I have no way of knowing, or knowing  that it’s meaningful to you.  These messages validate who they are, and  that they are who they say they are.   I’ve  seen tears, laughter, moments of the transition itself, apologies, whatever it takes to promote the continuation of life and hope. These messages or readings come through me, not of or from me.

Mediumship is an honorable profession and process that deserves respect. It facilitates a unique healing.  Closure, surrender, or acceptance usually takes place in a beautiful, natural, organic way.  We are each spiritual beings with our own perfect Life.  Mediumship  is a way to show that  Life after Life is a reality, not an imaginary fantasy, thought, or feeling.  We exist.  We continue. We are all connected  to each other whether we’re here on earth or living on another level or plane. We are. There is. And there always will be. Life after life is real, not only for those who transition, but for those who are still here..

The right Medium, a true Medium, believes in the power, beauty, and uninterrupted continuity of life. Their abilities encourage and help you.  They bring love, listen, and guide.  They don’t and shouldn’t use their gifts for the primary purpose of financial gain. They let themselves be used by the Angels and Guides as  instruments of peace, love, guidance and healing.  They are  quietly confident because they know they’re used by non-physical beings from the highest planes for this purpose, and this purpose alone.

I am grateful every day that I’m able to do this work for others. It brings healing to me and my family concerning several losses we’ve been through, including  including my grandmother’s suicide.

Finding the Right Medium –  Someone You  Trust

Research any Medium before using him or her. Good Mediums are normally referred to you  by someone  who used them and found their messages  meaningful,  accurate, and true. Trust your inner response. Allow  yourself to be guided to where you are meant to be.  Your loved ones may be trying to get your attention to make contact with you.  They may have been trying for a while.

Your loved ones, Guides and Angels know you better than anyone else. You can trust them and the process you’re in — The Movement Within.

Trust yourself too.  Believe the person who transitioned touched your life and there’s an important purpose for that connection.  Whether the transitioned person is a friend, lover, partner, parent, child, grandparent, sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle, neighbor — or anyone else — know that they still have a relationship with you.  The relationship still exists.  Just as they touch you, you will also touch and impact them.  You helped shape their life.  Through a true Medium, your loved ones will come through to continue to touch, guide, and help shape yours. This is something that’s meant to be.

There is no such thing as a disconnection from life, except in our fears.  There is only continuation and evolution. You have experienced life and grown through your relationship with your transitioned loved ones just as they have through you. This doesn’t  and can’t change.  There is life after life, within them and within you.

Love and blessings to all of you. May you continue to learn, love, understand,  and grow as you discover the true gift of life within yourself. You’ll get the guidance you need.  You will feel love. Stay  open to all life still has in store for you. Healing takes time. Allow yourself as much time  as you need to heal. Time is on your side.  So is a true Medium and Intuitive.  We’re  all part of this process together. There are no mistakes, only lessons to learn.

In Truth, Love, and Light Always,
April Claxton
