Music
Music plays a huge part in many of our lives. There is nothing better than crying along to a song that sounds exactly the way you feel, and when the time comes to get back up again, a favorite tune can be right there beside you to help pick up the pieces and put them back together. If you’ve got a favorite song or album share it with us and we’ll add it to out collection here.

“Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill. “I’m No Stranger to the Rain” by Keith Whitley. “Farther Along” by Elvis Presley. “Precious Memories” by Jim Reeves. “Whispering Pines” by Johnny Horton. “Now We Are Free” by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard (from the “Gladiator” soundtrack). “Orphan Girl” by Emmylou Harris. “Love Can Build a Bridge” by the Judds. “My Favorite Memory” by Merle Haggard. “I’ll Leave This World Loving You” by Ricky Van Shelton. “When I Get Where I’m Goin” by Brad Paisley. “I Love You” by Sarah McLachlan. “On the Wings of a Dove” by Hal Ketchum. “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace” by Susan Boyle. “On Eagle’s Wings” by Sarah O’Kennedy. “Be Not Afraid” by Renee Bondi. “Peace In the Valley” by George Jones.
Thanks so much. Just reading the titles moves me. I’m going to see if I can get some samples up (legally).
You can listen to it on U Tube. Ruetah
I appreciate your taking the time to write out the words to the song by Carly Simon. I would love to print them here, but it’s really copyright invasion to do that without appropriate permission (poems and songs are the strictest and hardest to get permission to reprint). One day, I will do a blog about copyrights on the web — so many people don’t understand them. Most of the time, people won’t be targets for copyright infringement lawsuits….but like the parents of those kids, you never really know. I could hear the song again just reading the words. I wore out several cds. Going through the aftermath (or should I say the first ten years of aftermath) of my son’s death, taught me a lot about healing. And many times we don’t need a self-help book or a therapist or group — we need a movie or a song. Thanks again.
Two Songs really speak for me: Love Of My Life by Carly Simon and I’ll Stand By You by The Pretenders/Rod Steward. They both tap into my happy and sad at the same time! Alicia
Speaking of Carly Simon, does anyone know the song by her that goes something like this: Life is eternal, and death is but a …… can’t remember much more except that I listened to it about a thousand times after Shane died.

I don’t think we’ve put any links to music up in the store yet; and I”m not certain if we will. I have great faith in the universe too, that it will bring us the songs we need to hear. Some say it’s our loved ones who bring the music to us, as a way to let us know they’re near. But I have great faith that whether I sell music or not off the site, we’ll each find and buy the music we need to hear. (But giving each other suggestions can help and be part of how the Universe works.)
Tears form Heaven is a great song describes some of the feelings, some of our questions dealing with grief
You’re right — excellent song.
GREENy – thanks for sending the Carly Simon Song. The bane of my existence is now a 64-bit computer with 64-bit Internet Explorer – it won’t download Adobe Flash and when I try to get the upgrade I just go around in circles. But yup, that’s the one. thanks.
There was also a song, can’t remember the artist “I’ll be There” — it was definitely a song by someone who “passed” letting the person know that he’d be close. That was another one I played until I wore out the CD. There were about five others but I listened to them until the people around me couldn’t take it anymore.
